Our underfloor heating for tiles, porcelain or stone comes in the form of electric cable that mats allow underfloor heating to be laid over large areas in a short amount of time. They are externally versatile, offering the flexibility to heat any room shape and size.

The cable mat system is similar to other loose cable systems, except that the cable comes ready taped to a 50cm wide fibreglass mesh. This makes it much faster and manageable to lay in larger open plan areas.

The 200w Mat is based on the same design as 150w mat but the output has been increased to 200 watts per square metre making it ideal for underfloor heating in conservatories and glass rooms and other areas where there is more heat loss.

Please Note: Floor coverage is calculated as 85% of the total floor due to the gaps between each run and perimeter gap between the wall and the mat.

Cable mats allow underfloor heating to be laid over large areas in a short amount of time. They are externally versatile, offering the flexibility to heat any room shape and size.

The Varme cable mat system is similar to the Varme and other loose cable systems except that the cable comes ready taped to a 50cm wide fibreglass mesh. This makes it much faster and manageable to lay in larger open plan areas.

The 150w Varme Mat is based on the same design as 200w mat but the lower output at 150 w /m² makes them ideal for all internal rooms, giving approximately 130w per sqm at 85% floor coverage.

By far our most popular system for bathrooms for it’s flexibility in covering any shape and size of room. Like the cable mat it can be laid onto existing floors and covered by tile adhesive but comes as one length of cable which is laid out and run into any shaped room or area. Loose cable kits can be used in any room no matter how irregular the shape.

In order to select the correct cable kit size you must first measure the free floor area of the room. When calculating the size, please remember to exclude the area taken up by any fixed objects such as baths, showers, kitchen units etc.

For larger areas than those detailed on the chart please contact us for further information as these areas have a different electrical installation than standard sizes.

The Varme loose cable electric underfloor heating is used when the cable is capable of being installed below the floor typically within a 60 to 100mm of concrete screed. With a heat output of 20w per linear metre this system can act as a primary heat source and can be used under almost any floor covering.

Output can be varied through the cable spacing ranging from 120-150w per square metre in a new build or extension and up to 200w per square metre in a conservatory. This system can be used directly below thick flagstone type flooring.

In-screed underfloor heating loose cable systems are cost effective and are ideal where constant heat is required. For irregular heating such as in a conservatory or areas of infrequent use we suggest using the Varme under tile system with insulation boards or an under wood/laminate carbon mat film system.

Tile backer boards are a state of the art product, which prevents heat loss into your sub-floor. Ideal for use with under tile heating systems. In addition they are recommended by leading underfloor heating manufacturers.

They can be used for fixing over chipboard floors (both with & without underfloor heating), offering a waterproof & stable surface on which to lay tiles.

In conclusion, using an insulation board will improve the performance of electric underfloor heating, even if you have insulation below the concrete screed.

Technical information:

The boards are made from a waterproof extruded polystyrene.

On each face the boards have a fibreglass mesh & a rigid cement coating.

This gives it superior qualities to most other boards on the market.

Available in several thicknesses:- from 4 to 60mm

In a conservatory which is to have underfloor heating and to be tiled. We strongly recommend the use of insulated tile-backer boards. If you are still in the planning stage, we recommend that you ask your conservatory supplier/installer to leave the base slightly lower than normal. You can then accommodate the tile-backer board. The boards are supplied in thicknesses ranging from 4mm – 60mm depending on your requirement.

The use of insulated tile-backer boards will reduce warm-up times & reduce running costs in all cases. Similarly they are especially recommended if installing under-tile heating on an un-insulated floor.

The boards can be fitted directly over floorboards, chipboard, plywood using galvanised screws. They can also be fitted over existing concrete floors with ordinary floor tile adhesive.

The boards are 0.72m² and are available in thicknesses of 4-60 mm.

The film is laid over our exceptional 6mm Depron floor insulation (which replaces the standard flooring underlay) to give a minimal effect on your floor height – less than 6.5mm in total. This makes it ideal for use in new buildings & renovations or refurbishments where floor height can be vitally important.

Heat Pak is a dual overboard system design for use with Carbon Heating Film for underfloor heating systems that require a floor finish of Carpet or vinyl.
