Installation Guide
Before installation, ensure the subfloor is clean, dry, level and structurally sound. Fix the boards using a suitable flexible adhesive or the recommended fixing method for your subfloor, ensuring they are laid tightly together with all routed channels correctly aligned. Once the boards are securely installed, press 12mm or 16mm underfloor heating pipe firmly into the pre-routed channels, taking care not to kink or damage the pipe. The underfloor heating system should then be pressure tested before any floor finish is applied.
For ceramic and porcelain tiles, the cement coated surface allows tiles to be fixed directly to the boards using a suitable flexible S1 or S2 tile adhesive. Where Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT), carpet, vinyl or other resilient floor coverings are to be installed, the routed channels should first be covered with a suitable fibre-reinforced leveling compound, typically to a depth of 8-10mm or in accordance with the leveling compound manufacturer’s recommendations, to provide a smooth, stable surface. Engineered wood, laminate and other compatible floor finishes should be installed in accordance with the flooring manufacturer’s guidance.
Before commissioning the heating system, allow all adhesives and leveling compounds to cure fully. The heating should then be brought up to temperature gradually, increasing the flow temperature in stages to help protect the floor finish and ensure the long-term performance of the installation.
